Our commitment to ethical practice
The Biofeedback Association of South Africa (BFSA) is committed to the safe, ethical and professional practice of Applied Neuro- and Psychophysiology, including biofeedback, neurofeedback and QEEG. In line with the ISNR Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice, BFSA expects its members to uphold the following principles:
Competence – Members practise only within the boundaries of their specific training, experience and legal credentials, and within their professional scope of practice.
Integrity and honesty – Members represent their qualifications, clinical outcomes and the limitations of neuroregulation technologies truthfully and accurately.
Fairness and objectivity – Members approach clinical practice and research without bias, and protect the open discussion of theories and factual findings.
Respect and trustworthiness – Members safeguard the rights, dignity and autonomy of clients, research participants and colleagues.
These principles guide how our members work with clients, conduct research and represent the field. BFSA aligns with the international standards and guidelines set out by ISNR, BCIA, IQCB and ACNS, as well as CNSSA.
